An integral aspect of the consortium’s work was to convene artists and researchers at different sites to hold open forums for the public to both see the work of visual artists and dialogue with them about their experiences. These forums served to open up the research in a participatory fashion such that artists themselves contributed to the scope of the research by sharing their stories in publicly engaged ways within their own communities and beyond.
